Air Serbia Canceling Flights Due to “Unfavorable Factors” and Introducing Flights to Ohrid

Air Serbia today launched flights between Belgrade and Ohrid, four times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Air Serbia said in today’s press release that, since the beginning of 2023, it had expanded the network of cities it flies to from Belgrade by over 20 destinations in Europe, North America, Asia and Africa, whereas yesterday, the company announced that, in the coming period, it would be forced to postpone or cancel certain flights.

– Due to a combination of a large number of unfavorable factors, primarily the delayed entrance to the fleet of certain planes which were planned, as well as the delayed completion of the works on several planes due to the slowed down spare part supply chain on the global level, all the way to phase-based delays due to big staff problems of certain airports, unfavorable weather conditions and the consequent loss of slots, Air Serbia has been forced to reorganize and optimize the traffic in its network of destinations – Air Serbia said.

They added that, considering said factors, in the coming days, the type of planes planned for certain flights, postponements and even the cancellation of certain flights, could happen.

– Still, the competent services of the Serbian national airline carrier are continuously adapting the traffic to the existing resources so that there are as few delays as possible and so that the traffic can be carried out in line with the planned flight schedule as much as possible. Air Serbia is doing everything in its power to normalize the traffic as soon as possible and apologizes to all passengers who have been or will be affected by the potential changes of the plane types or deviations from the planned flight schedule – they said.
