Serbian citizens are increasingly buying apartments in Albania, because the price per square meter is as many as five times lower than similar real estate in Serbia! Prices per square meter start at EUR 330, even at the seaside, beginning with Durres, Vlore, through Sarande, to the southmost point – Ksamil.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Albania has experienced a boom of tourist arrangements for tourists from Serbia, because the country did not have strict entry measures, so Serbian citizens gained insight into the tourism potential of this country following their summer vacations there.
Aleksandar Senicic, the director of the National Association Tourism Agency (YUTA) told Kurir that Albania had become a popular destination in the past years precisely because of the low prices.
– Prices per square meter there are far more favorable compared to other countries, from EUR 600 to 1,000 per square meter. Serbs have been buying real estate in Greece for 10 years now, mostly in the north, and slightly less in the south. The tourism potential of Albania has been recognized recently, so our people are already buying apartments there as well – he said.
Indeed, the offer over there is very varied and friendly to everybody’s budget. Apartments in new buildings with a view to the sea, in Golem near Durres, only five minutes away from the beach, are sold at prices starting at EUR 430 per square meter. Some of them have a view to the sea, waiting for the new owner to choose even details such as tiles, and they have a floor area of 50 m2.
In Sarande, which is known as a tourism place, apartments can be found at EUR 330 per square meter. An online ad shows an apartment of 50 m2 at a price of EUR 16,500.
For those who want a larger floor area, an apartment of 70 m2 can be bought for EUR 30,000, which is EUR 429 per square meter.
Also, real estate can be found for cheap in Vlore, a seaside Albanian city, where the Adriatic Sea meets the Ionian Sea. An apartment of 72 m2 can be found in ads at a price of EUR 25,000, which is EUR 347 per square meter.
