(Illustration) At a recent session, the Assembly of the City of Novi Sad adopted the Plan for detailed regulation of a part of the area planned for the business of the secondary and tertiary sector, which will include the northeastern area of the planned bypass in Veternik.

The planned bypass listed is an extension of Vojvode Stepe Boulevard, which will also represent the southeastern border of the 51.76-hectare area.

As stated in the document, there are already numerous facilities intended for family housing in this area, and the plan is to develop a modern business center with economic facilities of the tertiary sector. Activity development in the field of trade, catering, service trades, traffic and communal activities will also be possible. Considering that the area includes a large space without any facilities, the plan calls for construction of larger business complexes that will represent commercial centers with a number of sales and service facilities.

Thus, the plan also calls for the construction of a modern wholesale market on an area along the primary road towards Sajlovo. The complex will cover an area of 6 to 10 hectares, and the maximum allowed number of floors is GF + 2.

Additionally, this facility will contain an enclosed space with boxes for the sale of agricultural and food products, open space for the sale directly out of trucks, parking for vehicles and supplies, passenger car parking, deep freeze facility, office building, fruit warehouse, catering facilities for customers and sellers.

In addition to that, the future wholesale market will be built in phases, and the plan is to turn it into a modern distribution center in the foreseeable future.

Outside the space intended for the wholesale market, the planned area is divided into three sub-units which are intended for the economy or business with family housing.
