Balloons for the Serbian Cappadocia project have been delivered to the city of Indjija. Commercial flights will start on June 3, according to the announcement. The sale of tickets for the balloon flight over Krcedinska ada starts today, Milan Bogojevic, director of the Tourist Organization of Indjija, confirmed for Dnevnik.

As he explained, a total of seven hot air balloons have arrived, two designed for transporting 20 passengers each, and five smaller ones with a capacity of three-four fans of panoramic flights.

- In late May, 10 more pilots are coming in from Cappadocia. All necessary permits issued by the Civil Aviation Directorate, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Vojvodina vode and others have been obtained. Flights will start at 19h on weekends, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The price of the ticket will be RSD 6,000 per person. The decision was made for the flights to be in the evenings, because that's when the wind is most favorable. The balloons will fly up to 50 meters high and stay up for about six to seven minutes, from where you can enjoy the beautiful panorama that you can also take photos of - explained Bogojevic.

In addition, transportation by catamaran and boat from the pier to Krcedinska ada will be organized.

- The ship and the catamaran will sail for about 25 minutes in one direction. They will pass under the Bescanski bridge, next to the Koviljsko-Petrovaradinski swamp, the backwater to Krcedinska ada. The price of the boat ticket will be 500 dinars per person - said Bogojevic.

The transport will depart Krcedin an hour and a half before the flight, around 17:30h.

- Krcedinska ada is already a very attractive tourist location in Vojvodina, and with the introduction of hot air ballooning, it will become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Serbia and beyond. About 500 people visit this island on weekends, and we believe that the introduction of the new offer will increase that number to around 2,000. This way, we would be able to offer a fully-fledged, interesting trip, and get a completely new competitive tourist product - Bogojevic said.

Recently, the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Indjija has announced public procurements for the purchase of used flying balloons, as well as for the rental of flying balloons with accompanying crew.

Just to remind the readers: the plan to create a "Serbian Cappadocia" in Indjija was launched in mid-2022, when intensive negotiations with representatives of tourist organizations and agencies from Turkey began.

Early this year, an announcement was made informing the future visitors that Krcedinska ada will have ten balloons available for panoramic viewing.
