Conference “(Green) Energy Is a Feminine Word” to Be Held on February 10 in Belgrade

The conference “(Green) Energy Is a Feminine Word”, which is part of the project “The Path to a Greater Participation of Women in the RES Sector”, will be held on February 10 at Hotel Metropol in Belgrade in the presence of state officials, ambassadors and company representatives.

The conference is organized by the RES Serbia association with the support of the Embassy of Canada, and at the opening ceremony, the attendees will be addressed by the ambassador of Canada to Serbia, Giles Norman, and the minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic.

Following the opening ceremony, two panel discussion will be organized:

– The role and importance of women to the development of energy and the RES sector – institutional perspectives

– RES as a secure business and career future for women – experiences of female leaders and research perspectives

Among the panelists and moderators of the conference are managers, director, engineers from WindEurope, EBRD, Energy Community Secretariat, EPS, Elektromreze Srbije AD, as well as private companies which operate in the RES sector.

The film “I Am a Woman and I Work in the RES Sector”, in which the four protagonists reveal how they decided to build their careers in the sector of renewable energy sector, what kind of challenges they face when designing wind farms and maintaining hydro power plants, but also what they would advise to young women who are only just thinking about their studies, will premiere at the conference.

Let us remind that the project “The Path to a Greater Participation of Women in the RES Sector” is carried out by the RES Serbia association with the support of the Embassy of Canada. The project aims to promote women who work in the RES sector in order to motivate young women to build their careers in this field.
