The Central Bank of Russia has announced that it has included the Serbian dinar in its official list of foreign currencies. At the same time, another eight currencies have been included in the list, such as UAE dirham, Thai baht, Vietnamese dong, New Zealand dollar, Georgian lari, Indonesian rupiah, Egyptian pound and Qatari riyal. The official exchange rates of these currencies against the ruble will be set by the Bank of Russia, the bank announced in a press release.

The National Bank of Serbia included the Russian ruble in its official list of foreign currencies around ten years ago. One ruble is worth one and a half dinars.

The exchange rate of the dinar against the Russian ruble in the Serbian market is set based on the exchange rate of the dinar against the euro, that is, the intercurrency ratio between the euro and the Russian ruble which is in effect in the international finance market.
