Italian Cuisine Week in Belgrade Until November 20

The program of the seventh Week of Italian Cuisine in the World has been presented in Belgrade. The initiative is organized by the Embassy of Italy, in cooperation with the actors of the System of Italy in Serbia (ICE agency, Cultural Institute, Chamber of Italian-Serbian Business People and Confindustria Serbia).

The calendar is rich with initiatives, which range from distribution in large store chains to e-trade, from meetings between producers and importers of Italian products, to science seminars, the press release says.

The program also features professional wine, cheese and oil tasting sessions, organized in cooperation with Italian consortiums, as well as degustation menus at certain Italian restaurants and pizzerias which have joined the initiative. Also, a part is dedicated to the young, with “time for pizza”, masterclass courses held by well-known Italian chefs at hotel schools in Serbia and socializing, thanks to the charity dinner based on Italian dishes in cooperation with UNHCR, meant for refugees in Serbia.

The ambassador of Italy to Serbia, Luca Gori, pointed out that “Italian cuisine is a symbol of quality on the global level”.


– Our aim is to raise awareness of innovative and sustainable Italy in the agricultural-food sector as well. The expansion of the knowledge about original “Made in Italy” products also means fighting the phenomenon of “sounds Italian” and providing consumers with correct information about the nutritive values of our excellences – ambassador Gori concluded.
