Tender for Construction of Sports Hall in Novi Knezevac Published

The Capital Investment Administration of Vojvodina, together with the Municipality of Novi Knezevac, has opened the public procurement procedure for the construction of a sports hall in Vasariste, whose value is RSD 638 million.

The construction is planned in three phases, and the works might start by the end of October, or in early November, whereas the completion is expected until 2025.

The president of the municipality, Radovan Uveric, pointed out that Novi Knezevac belonged to the very few municipalities where a sports hall had never been built, although this local self-government boasts 17 sport clubs and a large number of children who are active in sports in a recreational capacity, and who have nowhere to train in the winter months. Handball, basketball, table tennis and as many as six football clubs operate successfully, but in order to achieve better results and enter higher tournament circles, they lack adequate conditions for the training process.

– This is one of the biggest investments to arrive to Novi Knezevac in the past decades – Uveric said and added that the project had been available for public inspection and that all the sports associations were satisfied with the design and the functionality.

The hall will be built in Vasariste and adapted to sportsmen with disabilities as well. This is a spacious and accessible place and will feature enough parking spaces and green areas. A wider area of Vasariste will be developed with the construction of the hall, and there’s also the possibility of sports courts being additionally built in the future.
