The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia and the EU Delegation to Serbia have published the tender for the expansion of the port of Prahovo.

The scope of work includes the complete Design for Execution of the Works (PZI) and phase reconstruction and extension of existing facilities and construction of new port capacities of the port of Prahovo, but not limited to, Environmental Works and Geotechnical Works, security / access provisions and transport arrangements, excavation, filling, compaction, revetment / embankments and monitoring, new Green Terminal.

In addition, the Contractor is responsible for furnishing the following, including, but not limited to all professional staff, labor, material, plant, equipment, services and support facilities.

The tender is open until October 20, and more details can be found HERE.

The planned additional capacities of the Port of Prahovo are supposed to enable the reloading and storage of at least 2,000,000 tons, and according to the prognoses until 2035, more than 3,500,000 tons of various kind of bulk and general cargo, whereby this port will meet the conditions for being included in the Core TEN-T network of river ports.

Let us remind that, in early July, the tender for the supervision of the expansion of the port of Prahovo, worth EUR 1.5 million, was published, and the tender for the reconstruction and expansion of the port of Bogojevo was published yesterday.

As previously announced by minister Tomislav Momirovic, the state will invest EUR 500 million in Prahovo and Bogojevo this and next year, using the concession model.

– We would find a partner. We would then make an agreement with it for a part to be invested by the state and for a part to be invested by the partner, which would also be the operator of that port, for the next 30 years. That will generate new investments, an increased reloading of goods and traffic – Momirovic said last summer for RTS.
