Draginja Djuric Leaving Position of President of Executive Board of Banca Intesa After 20 Years

After more than 20 years of successfully running the operations of Banca Intesa Belgrade, Draginja Djuric is leaving the position of the president of the Executive Board of the leading bank in the market of Serbia. She is to be succeeded by Darko Popovic, a member of the Executive Board and the head of Retail. Draginja Djuric will continue contributing to Intesa Sanpaolo Group in the position of the adviser to the director of the Division of International Bank Members for the CEE area – Croatia, Slovakia, and especially Serbia, as the ambassador of Intesa Sanpaolo Group in communication with the regulators, institutions and potential clients in these markets. Furthermore, in her new role, she will put her decades-long experience and wide expertise at the disposal of the members of the group as the vice president of the Management Board at Privredna Banka Zagreb, a member of the management boards of VUB Bank in Slovakia and IVS, a company which provides IT services.

Since she took over the management of the bank in 2001, Draginja Djuric has given a significant contribution to its development and the progress of the whole banking sector of Serbia. Under her management, Banca Intesa Belgrade has become part of the international group Intesa Sanpaolo, integrated the highest international standards in its operations and taken the leading position in the market measured by the key indicators of business success, which it has been maintaining successfully for 15 years now. The business results of the bank have also been awarded with a range of foreign and local acknowledgments, among which the nine awards for the Bank of the Year in Serbia, handed out by The Banker magazine, as well as the acknowledgments for the most successful bank by magazines Euromoney and Global Finance, six acknowledgments by each, stand out.
