The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated that investments in the low-voltage network were necessary in order to increase the reliability of the supply of electrical energy in the territory of the whole Serbia, the government announced. While visiting the distribution-dispatch center of Elektrodistribucija Srbije (EDS) in Belgrade, Mihajlovic pointed out that it was very important to invest in the distribution system in the next years in order to secure reliable supply in the territory of the whole country.

– We will invest over half a billion euros in the next several years. Money has never been the problem, but now we can also make adequate plans, because EDS is an independent company – she said.

Mihajlovic said that the losses on the network cost close to EUR 200 million annually and that a modernization of the distribution system was necessary.
