Mihajlovic: Price of Electricity for Citizens to Remain the Same Until the End of the Winter

The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, said today that there would be no changes in electricity prices for households all the way until the end of the heating season, that is, until March.

On TV Tanjug, Mihajlovic said that this was the most frequent question posed to the ministry by the citizens and repeated that the state’s decision was for the price for households to remain the same.

– In the meantime, there have certainly been certain changes for the economy and the industry, as their agreements are slowly expiring this year, so EPS is talking to each company in order to find the optimal price for both EPS and those companies – Mihajlovic said.

She points out that the state needs to help the economy, because, she points out, it is very important for the economy to start using gas, and increasingly less electricity, and, at the moment, she adds, it is impossible for it to function without that electricity.

– The price of electrical energy for households will remain the same, it will not change, and the price for the economy is changing. We will see what the situation is like next year and what we will do with the prices for households – Mihajlovic said.

She added that the state would try to have the price for the economy not jeopardize its products and competitiveness and with it the competitiveness of the state.
