Gravel from West Morava to be Used in Construction of Embankment on Preljina-Pozega Highway

The securing of gravel material from the bed of the river West Morava for the construction of the embankment of the Preljina-Pozega highway was the topic of the conversation between the mayor of Cacak, Milun Todorovic, the managing director of the PE Srbijavode, Goran Puzovic, and the manager of the project of the construction of the subsection 3 (Preljina-Pakovrace), Shou Jicheng.

– In the period while the dam in Parmenac is up, the plan is for the works on the regulation of the river bed through the removal of gravel layers upstream from the dam to be done and for the material to be used for the works on the highway. At the same time, the low water level will be used for the works on the inlet structure of the hydromelioration system Parmenac-Ljubic as part of the works on the revitalization of the entire irrigation system. After the dam sluices are lowered in June, the development of the river dam downstream from the dam will continue – Todorovic said on Facebook.

This way, according to him, the opening of at least one material source site in Prijevor will be kept, on an area of over one hectare, and at the same time, the bed of the West Morava will be developed, which, as he pointed out, is important for multiple reasons, for the formation of the accumulation for an alternative water supply of the city during the summer and for the reduction of flood risk.
