Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated today that “a wonderful park” would be built in front of the Church of Saint Sava and that it would cost EUR 7.5 million.

– It will be a grandiose park and it will cost a lot. The first phase will cost EUR 1.5 million, and it will cost EUR 7.5 million in total – Vucic said at a press conference in Belgrade, B92 reports.

The deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, previously stated that the park in front of the Church of Saint Sava would be fully reconstructed.

The new park, Vesic said in early 2020, will have a lot more greenery, nearly a hundred new trees, a fountain and new granite slabs.

The development of this park will be financed by the Republic of Serbia and the City of Belgrade, and the Serbian Orthodox Church is involved in the process.

The authors of the design are Branislav Mitrovic and Dejan Miljkovic.
