The tourist settlement Beli Bagrem and the Silver Lake area, in the municipality of Veliko Gradiste, according to the amendments to the Detailed Regulation Plan, which was available for early public review until December 16, are planned for the construction of new tourist features. German investors are among interested parties.

According to the plan, the construction of vacation houses, hotels, sports facilities and smaller hospitality facilities is envisaged here.

– This plan will remove all the flaws of the previous one, whose realization harmed the space. Also, we want a part of the Silver Lake area to be designated for high-category hotels, as well as for mansions. Within the already developed areas, it's possible to raise lower category hotels, apartments, resorts and restaurants – says Zorica Sretenovic of Urbanprojekt, the head urban planner of this project.

Dragan Milic, the president of the municipality of Veliko Gradiste, says for eKapija that the municipality wants to develop tourism and that this plan is the basis for further development.

– There is the offer from a German investor that wants to build a hotel near the marina location on the island. The value of the investment is around EUR 10 million. The project entails the construction of a high-category hotel, with pools and many other features. We have received a letter of intent from the investor and we are now waiting to solve the property-legal relations – Milic says for our portal.

As he points out, the Silver Lake is already well recognized on the tourist map of Serbia.

– This is a symbol of the Branicevo District. There are more and more foreign guests. This year, we had around 130,000 overnight stays, and 600,000 to 700,000 people pass through the municipality annually. There are 3,000 weekend vacations houses in Veliko Gradiste. In 2018, more than 100 new apartments opened and another 100 are being built this year due to an increase in the demand.

He adds that the project documentation for the high-speed route between the Belgrade-Nis highway and Golubac is in progress, making for an easier access to the Silver Lake.

Let us remind that one of the plans of the municipality is for Veliko Gradiste to also get an airport and a runway for aircraft for up to 50 passengers.
